South Wake Household Hazardous Waste Facility is a municipal hazardous-waste program in Apex, part of the Raleigh metro. They accept batteries (alkaline (aa, aaa, c, d, 9v), button cell, and lithium primary) and paint products such as latex paint (10 gal limit), oil-based paint, and paint thinners. Cost: Free for Wake County residents. Hours: Mon-Sat 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Walk-ins are welcome. South Wake HHW is located within the South Wake Multi-Material Recycling Facility. Same accepted items as North Wake. CFLs, fluorescent tubes, propane tanks, pesticides also accepted. Restrictions: Residential waste only. No business/commercial. No lithium car batteries or generator batteries.
