Salt Lake Valley Landfill - Household Hazardous Waste Facility is a municipal hazardous-waste program in Salt Lake City. They accept batteries (all household batteries, automotive batteries, and rechargeable) and paint products such as latex paint, oil-based paint, and paint thinners. Cost: Free for Salt Lake County residents. Hours: Mon-Sat 7 AM - 5 PM. Walk-ins are welcome. Main HHW drop-off for Salt Lake County. Located at the Salt Lake Valley Landfill. ALSO accepts TVs and monitors at the landfill (separate e-waste area) — call ahead about electronics acceptance. Self-service on Tue/Wed/Thu. Restrictions: Salt Lake County residents only. No commercial waste. No electronics, ammunition, radioactive materials, or explosives. Quantity limits: 30 gallons max for paint. Residential quantities for other items.
